Through the Charlotte Hornets Teacher Innovation Grant received by Ebony Locket and Curtis Overton, students are making a difference at West Meck High School.
Students within the scientific visuals program can now utilize 3D printer and CNC Machine to create products, inventions, and ideas while improving the school. Students are able to boost school morale and provide a spaces that students can apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom into real world applications.
Students will use design skills, measuring and designing to real world scale, in order to construct shelves, cabinets, signs, cases and items to establish West Mecks school store. Students will apply the Elements of Design to create functional furniture pieces from Digital 2D and 3D software to machined and finished products and items.
